I have been one to say attention equals awareness plus thought. After further review, I am now saying attention equals awareness plus life (prana, I Am) plus thought.
Be it as it may, between Ego and the Principle of Existence is God. In fact, Life is the Voice of God singing of Nirguna Brahman.
God is life. Life sings I Am.
Ego says I am something else.
The land of death drones on.
Listen to those waves.

Consciousness and existence are beyond imagination
like the sea is beyond any of its islands
until you dip your toe into that water.

Belief is this wasteland.
Revelation is that lightning.
Basho is reflecting on thunder.
